On Sunday, March 23rd, the Tampa location of Painting with a Twist had two cool events going on simultaneously in their two studios, Painting with a Purpose & Paint your Pet. The group raising funds was the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a group with local offices in Tampa. Wendy Bourland, Communications and Events Manager, was presented a check for $450 by Marvin Gay for this group that has been caring for the families of Fallen and Wounded Special Operations Forces since 1980.
On Sunday, March 23rd, the Tampa location of Painting with a Twist had two cool events going on simultaneously in their two studios. Each of these events are held at intervals at the Painting with a Twist locations in both Tampa and St. Petersburg. In the St. Petersburg studio, "We had 32 painters at our fundraiser for the Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida," Leslie Gay said. "You will see why this organization is near and dear to our hearts in one of the pictures in this album (on Facebook). $900 was raised for them as part of our monthly Painting with a Purpose."

Painting with a twist is an art studio that offers paint classes. Each month they hold a special class called "Paint with a Purpose" that helps raise money for local charities. Sunday's class benefited a dog rescue group called "Nuts for Mutts". It raised over $600.
If you like to paint, love pets and don't mind a glass or two of wine, Sunday's Nuts for Mutts fundraising event in Fairport was for you.

Dreary weather made for a perfect day to stay inside and get creative, and that is just what a couple dozen women did at a new downtown shop. Members and supporters of Women Rock, a non-profit that pays for women to get mammograms and supports breast cancer survivors, came to the new Painting With a Twist store on North Travis Street on Saturday afternoon.

I entered the studio expecting to create a total disaster that only “abstractly” resembled the example. But I was shocked at the final product.
